Matt Sorum to ABC News Radio:
During the same interview, Sorum revealed that VELVET REVOLVER are planning to move in a different direction on their new album, which has the working title of "Libertad".
"Our first album was very aggressive and just in-your-face. and we made it very quickly," Sorum explained. "And this album we just really want to, like, you know, we want to pull it back a bit, groove a little harder, [make it] a little more danceable. We've talked about working with people like [pop superstar] Pharrell [Williams] just for the… just to check it out. I mean, it's not rock and roll, but it might be different. Who knows?! I don't know."

<font size="4" face="Arial">but wouldn't this further the need for Geffen to sign another Hanoi'ish' band? if Hanoi continued on (though Sam was already leaving and Nasty was having thoughts too) and became larger then life, then EVERY record label would be trying to sign the next Hanoi Rocks. Geffen had nothing to do with Hanoi Rocks until Uzi Suicide (owned by Geffen) re-released some of their back catalog through Axl's prodding. Hanoi Rocks are my favorite band of all time, this is by no means bashing them but they were never going to be the gods of rock in roll in the media's eye. yes they were influential on many of the late 80's early 90's bands but that doesn't always translate over to record sales and at the end of the day, that's all record companies care about.Quote:

you can also say that if Mike was more careful and didn't break his ankle in Syracuse, then Hanoi wouldn't had to have cancelled their tour which means they wouldn't have been sent across the country to do radio and magazine promotions, which means they wouldn't have met Motley Crue at that time which means blah blah blah .... life happens; to pick out one moment in time is not fair.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="4" face="Arial">Did'nt Geffen originally distribute the Hanoi stuff in the USA, hence them doing the reissues.

No. The first three Hanoi's were never released in the US until the Geffen/Uzi Suicide releases. "Mystery City" was on...PVC I believe, and "Two Steps" is on Epic.
